Built by Experts in Education, Storytelling & Digital Archives
Local Heroes brings together specialists in education, oral history, community engagement and digital technology to help young people discover, preserve and share the stories that shape their communities.
Created in partnership with the team behind Legasee — home to the UK's largest archive of veteran interviews — Local Heroes combines proven storytelling expertise with practical programme design and a purpose-built digital archive platform.
For Education
Built for Real Schools, Real Communities & Real Impact.
We know that successful programmes need to be engaging, practical and easy to deliver. That's why Local Heroes has been designed alongside educators, youth practitioners and digital specialists to create a structured programme that works in real-world settings.
Whether delivered in a classroom, youth group or community organisation, Local Heroes provides the tools, resources and support needed to create meaningful experiences and lasting outcomes.
Supported by a purpose-built digital archive platform, Local Heroes enables organisations to preserve and celebrate stories for generations to come.
For Purpose
Preserving Stories That Might Otherwise Be Lost
Every community is shaped by people whose experiences deserve to be remembered.
Through Local Heroes, young people become storytellers, interviewers and archivists — capturing the memories, achievements and experiences that make their communities unique.
Together, we're creating a growing network of local archives that celebrate community identity and preserve stories for future generations.
